01 — The Difference

Not a kennel.
A class of eight.

Big-box camps fill a warehouse and hire watchers. We cap the room, split the day into small groups by size and play style, and put a career trainer in with them. Fewer dogs, more hands, a calmer dog at pickup — that is the entire business model, and it is why we cost a little more.

The big-box camp
30–60+ dogs in one open room, all sizes mixed
One or two attendants supervising the whole floor
Staff trained to break up trouble, not to shape behaviour
Free-for-all play from open to close
Indoor turf, a strip of concrete outside
You get your dog back exhausted and over-stimulated
Pawsticcerie Social Club
25 dogs in the building, maximum — split into classes of eight
1 handler to 6 dogs, never more, in every group
A 20-year professional trainer runs the floor, not a sitter
Structured rhythm: play, enrichment, real nap time, play
A real fenced yard — turf, grass, agility and shade
A daily report card — what they learned, who they played with
Trainer-led session at the club
02 — Who's watching

Twenty years of reading dogs — in the room, all day.

Most daycares are supervised. Ours is taught. Our head of club is a professional dog trainer with two decades of behaviour work, and the day is built the way a good trainer would build it: matched play groups, structured breaks before anyone tips over threshold, manners reinforced in the moment they happen.

Which means the shy one gets brought along slowly instead of being thrown in. The bouncy one learns where the line is. And the things you've been working on at home — the door, the leash, the greeting — get reinforced sixteen hours a week instead of undone.

03 — The House

Two floors,
one yard.

Here is the actual building. Dogs live on the ground floor and out in the fenced side yard on the right. Cats get the whole second floor — separate entrance, separate air, separate stairs. No cat ever hears a dog, and no dog ever meets a cat.

The reason we chose this building. Real grass and shock-absorbing turf, agility ramps and weave poles, tunnels, a digging pit, and a shaded corner with water stations for when it gets hot. Split into two pens so the sprinters and the sniffers aren't in each other's way.

Everything
they get to use.

Nothing exotic — just good equipment, kept clean, swapped often, and matched to the dog. A twelve-pound Maltese and a forty-pound Aussie mix do not want the same afternoon.

Run like a small hotel, not a kennel. A real dark-and-quiet nap hour in the middle of the day, play in small matched groups either side of it, and warm light, soft beds and clean rooms throughout.

06 — The Day

A day at
the club.

Structure is the whole point. Eight hours is a long time for a dog to be switched on — play straight through it with no break and they go home wired, not happy. So the day has a shape.

9:00 – 10:00

Arrivals & soft start

Drop-off, a health-and-mood check at the door, then quiet sniffing and settling while the room fills. No one gets thrown into a crowd.

10:00 – 11:30

Yard block one

Groups of eight, matched by size and play style, out in the yard — agility, tunnels and a lot of running around.

11:30 – 12:30

Enrichment & manners

Indoors for puzzle feeders, scent games and a short trainer-led session — recall, settle, polite greetings.

12:30 – 2:30

Lunch & real nap time

Meals for the dogs who bring them, then lights down in the quiet room. Every dog rests, whether they think they need it or not.

2:30 – 4:00

Yard block two

Fresh groups, fresh equipment, and one-on-one time for the dogs who do better away from the pack.

4:00 – 5:00

Wind-down & pickup

Toy library, chew time, a brush-out if you've added one — and a report card handed over at the door.

07 — Location

Everything you tell us here shapes how we open: which days we staff, how big the small-dog group needs to be, and how many cat suites we build out upstairs.

12 — Questions

Before you ask

When exactly do you open?

November 2026. Early reservations are open now, and founding members get first choice of standing days and of our seven overnight suites. We'll email an exact date and the full address as soon as final inspections clear.

Why do you cost more than the big camps nearby?

Because a class of eight with a trainer in it costs more to run than a room of fifty with a watcher at the door. Our day rate runs about five dollars a day above the warehouse-style camps in the area, and everything is included — no charge for enrichment, no charge for the nap room, no charge for the report card. If your dog is fine in a crowd, the cheaper option is a perfectly reasonable choice. If they're small, shy, bouncy, or you actually want them coming home better behaved, that difference is what you're buying.

My dog is over 45 lb. Can they come?

Not for daycare — the yard, the equipment and the play groups are built around small and medium dogs, and mixing sizes is where most daycare injuries come from. Larger dogs are welcome at the salon for grooming, and we're happy to recommend a good large-dog camp.

Will my cat ever see a dog?

No. The cattery is on the second floor with its own entrance, its own staircase and separate ventilation. Cat guests never come through the dog floor, and a feline-only attendant handles the whole floor.

How small is a class, really?

Twenty-five dogs in the building at most — including any overnight guests — split into groups of about eight, with one handler per six dogs in every group. Groups are matched by size, age and play style — the rough-and-tumble crowd is never in with the ones who'd rather sniff.

Why nine to five? Can I drop off earlier?

We run one eight-hour day, nine to five, seven days a week — and everyone is on the floor for all of it. No skeleton crew opening at seven and no last handler closing up alone at night, which is exactly when the thin-staffed hours at a big camp go wrong. Eight hours is also about as long as a dog should be switched on: past that they aren't having more fun, they're just getting tired and scratchy. If an earlier drop-off is what stands between you and camp, say so on the reservation form — it's the first thing we'll add if enough founding members need it.

Can I combine camp with a groom?

That's the best part of being two minutes apart. Add a bath or a full groom at drop-off, we shuttle them over during the quiet part of the day, and you collect a clean, tired dog at pickup — one stop.

What if my dog doesn't pass the assessment?

Then we'll tell you honestly, and it costs you nothing. Sometimes it's a "not yet" — a young dog who needs a few private trainer sessions first, which we can do. Sometimes daycare simply isn't the right fit, and we'd rather say so than take your money.

Do I pay anything to reserve early?

No. The early reservation form holds a place in the assessment queue and locks the Early Bird rate. We send a secure payment link about two weeks before opening — and you can walk away at that point with no obligation.

How does the 20% Early Bird work?

Reserve before we open and every prepaid package or membership comes at 80% of its price — 5, 10 or 30 days, any monthly club, and overnight boarding booked in your first year. One per household, new clients only, for the first fifty households. The discount holds for twelve months from opening day. Your dog needs to pass the free Meet the Pack assessment first; if they aren't the right fit for group play, you get every dollar back.

Why discount at all, if you're the premium option?

Because the hardest thing about a new daycare is getting a nervous owner to try it once. A prepaid package is long enough for a dog to settle in and for you to see the difference an intimate class makes — so we'd rather spend the opening discount on that than on advertising. It runs once, for fifty households, and then never again.
